Arabic language course (Intermediate)

Language modules focus on developing students' communicative competence in four skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to equip students with a working knowledge of the target language and a sound level of communicative competence and confidence. By the end of the module, students will be equipped to understand and use Arabic with a degree of flexibility and a range to a lower intermediate language level (comparable overall to a lower B1 level). Students will be able to discuss topics that are familiar or pertinent to everyday life such as everyday conversational skills and interactions including university life, daily routine and study life as a student.

Course Objectives:

Confidently communicate in Arabic, in public, workplace and initiate interactions with native speaker to make simple conversations.

Be able to talk about yourself, family, education, and jobs with any native Arabic speaker.

Course Outline:

·         Conversations, Grammar, Adjective: Male and Female, Singular and Plural, Gender Identity (Masculine to Feminine), Pronouns – Subject and Object Pronouns.

·         Making requests and complaints, Giving and receiving instructions / suggestions, Demonstrate Pronouns, Possessive Pronouns, Interrogative Pronouns, Prepositions and Conjunctions, Verbs and Tenses , Comparative and Superlatives, Talking about jobs and routines.

Who should attend?

You should already be able to communicate at basic level (at least 120 hours of formal study). You may have completed the lower intermediate syllabus.

Learning outcomes

By the end of Intermediate III, learners will be able to:

Discuss different hobbies and activities that can be done in Gulf Countries.

Interact and solve problems in different situations at the workplace.
