Course Overview

HIV/AIDS is a global health challenge that affects millions of people around the world. Despite significant progress in the management and treatment of the virus, there is still a need for increased awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS to prevent new infections and provide effective care and support for those living with the virus. This course will cover the modes of transmission and the impact of HIV/AIDS on the human body. You will also learn about the various symptoms of HIV and how to recognize them, as well as the different stages of the disease progression. In addition, this course will explore the various strategies for preventing the transmission of HIV, including condom use, pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and postexposure prophylaxis (PEP). You will also learn about the importance of regular HIV testing and the role of HIV treatment, including antiretroviral therapy (ART), in suppressing the virus and preventing progression to AIDS. Finally, this course will examine the social and cultural factors that contribute to HIV-related stigma and discrimination, as well as strategies for reducing stigma and promoting acceptance of people living with HIV/AIDS.
