Overview

About this course

An integrated management system is not three manuals stapled together. This course teaches ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 as a single system built on the Annex SL harmonised structure, and then shows precisely where that harmony ends — because clauses that share a number do not always share an intent. ISO 14001 clause 6.1.2 identifies environmental aspects and impacts; ISO 45001 clause 6.1.2 identifies hazards and assesses risks to people. They are different exercises requiring different evidence, and an auditor who treats them as one will miss both.

The programme works through clauses 4 to 10 side by side, naming the clause number in each standard at every step: context and interested parties, leadership and policy, the divergent planning clauses, support and operation, performance evaluation and improvement. Particular attention is given to requirements that belong to one standard alone — ISO 45001 clause 5.4 consultation and participation of workers, which has no counterpart in ISO 9001 or ISO 14001; ISO 9001's design, external provider and product release requirements; ISO 14001's life-cycle perspective and compliance obligations. The final third turns to auditing: managing an audit programme and evaluating auditor competence to ISO 19011:2018 clauses 5, 6 and 7, building integrated audit trails that cross all three standards in a single thread, and writing nonconformities in problem–location–requirement form that survive review.

It is written for QHSE officers, management representatives, HSE and quality engineers, and consultants working in the GCC who need to run or defend an internal audit programme rather than merely describe one. No prior management-system qualification is assumed; every requirement is introduced from first principles and then examined as an auditor would.

Assessment is by a 30-question online final exam with a 70% pass mark. Successful learners receive a verifiable SKEDMIA certificate. Approximately 15 hours of self-paced study.
