About this course
ISO 14001:2026 was published on 15 April 2026, replacing ISO 14001:2015 as the world's environmental management system standard. Every certified organisation must transition before the deadline of 14 April 2029, and every practising auditor must be able to audit against the revised requirements. This transition course is built for lead auditors, internal auditors, EMS managers and consultants who already know ISO 14001:2015 and need a precise, clause-by-clause command of what changed, why it changed, and what audit evidence now looks like.
The programme works through the revision in the order an auditor meets it: the transition timeline and certification-body arrangements; the Harmonized Structure and terminology updates; the strengthened context, scope and leadership requirements including climate change and biodiversity; the restructured planning clauses and the new change-management requirement; the widened control of externally provided processes, products and services; and the reorganised performance-evaluation and improvement clauses. It closes with a practical module on planning gap analyses and conducting transition audits.
The course concludes with a 30-question final exam (70% pass mark). Successful learners receive a verifiable SKEDMIA certificate. Approximately 8 hours of self-paced study.
