It keeps the ten-clause structure and the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle, and it refines the 2015 edition rather than reinventing it — so a transition is a focused piece of work, not a rebuild. How to use it

Work with your own copy of ISO 14001:2026 open beside the checklist: the checklist points you to the changes, and the standard gives you the exact wording. Mark each check Done, Partial or Gap, and note the evidence you saw. Move every Partial and Gap into the transition plan with an owner and a date, then use the training and communication plan to bring internal auditors, process owners and top management up to date. Finish with an internal audit and a management review against the new edition before your certification body's transition audit.

Certificates to ISO 14001:2015 cease to be valid at the end of the three-year transition period, on 14 April 2029. Confirm arrangements with your certification body early — audit timing and any additional requirements are theirs to set. This kit is a working aid; it does not replace the standard.
