A legal register answers four questions an auditor will always ask: which legal and other requirements apply to you, how do they apply, who makes sure they are met, and how do you know? This kit gives organisations in the UAE a register structure that serves both an environmental and an occupational health and safety management system, together with the records that show compliance is evaluated and that changes in requirements are picked up.

How to use it
Work through the five steps: identify the requirements, assess how each applies to your activities, assign an owner, evaluate compliance and review. Write each entry so that it says what the requirement means for you, not only what it is called. Evaluate compliance at the frequency you have set, record the evidence you saw, and log every change in requirements with the decision you took.
The kit is a structure, not a list of laws. The two example rows name one federal environmental law and one federal labour law purely to show how an entry is written — confirm the current text and any emirate-level or free-zone requirements before you rely on either. Every other row is blank for you to complete from official sources or with qualified legal advice. It is not legal advice, and completing it does not by itself make an organisation compliant.
